最近好像兴起吃河鱼的风潮，到处都看到河鱼专卖店。上两个星期看了南洋商报介绍河鱼之王- 忘不了，听说价钱非凡。前几天心血来潮就跑去位于大城堡的鱼王小厨见识见识。

果然......预料之中，一公斤的忘不了卖价马币六百元。点菜的伙计说 200g应该足够我们两个人吃，可是算起来还是有点吃不消，百多块只吃一小块的鱼肉。于是我们决定叫1kg RM80 的红尾虎，大概半kg可以吃到饱饱，价钱还ok。

当侍应端出我们的鱼时，竟然发现鱼变小了！因为我们都没吃过这种鱼，所以也吃不出到底对不对。之前点菜的伙计看看不对劲，还跑来问我们是不是换了忘不了。后来他查回单，才发现下错单了！我们这盘正就是忘不了！因为是他自己搞错，所以我们只需付红尾鱼的价。

问到这么贵的鱼味道如何？嗯......可能是鱼生体的部分，和一般大鱼一样，肉的口感都是粗粗的，而且很多骨。好吃吗？...如果讲'还好啦'不懂会不会给老板打....哈哈哈........

I was first introduced to this Thai restaurant few months back by a friend staying in Happy Mansion, Petaling Jaya. The food captured my taste buds and become my favourite Thai Restaurant in Klang Valley. Last Saturday, I make an efford to bring Lok there again.

The price of the food is above average, if we were to consider at the location of the restaurant. However it is similar to other well known Thai restaurant like Chakri Palace and Bangkok Jazz. The restaurant is cozy with nice ambient and can be clasify as fine dinning.

If you happen to be around PJ, section 17 during lunch hour, do drop by My Elephant as they have lunch value set meal which will save you some penny.

Tree of Life Pendant free tutorial

Tree of Life pendant is very popular among wire jewelry artist. I always wanted to make one for myself so I search in the web for available tutorial. Found this tutorial on YouTube, a video showing step by step on how to create a Tree of Life Pendant by Camille Sharon. It's pretty easy to follow as the she has capture the steps very clearly.

Now I have my very own of Tree of Life pendant following the video. I use 18g artistic wire for the frame and 26g for wrapping. Instead of round beads, I use turquoise chips.

DSLR has always been in our "To Have" list for sometime. Lok and I has been doing some research on which model to own. Lot's of people reccomend Canon, which is more user friendly for beginner like us. As we are not so familiar with Canon and Lok favour Nikon, which is consider more specialize in DSLR technology. Finally we got ourselves a DSLR last Christmas, a Nikon D300S.

On our visit to Pavillion KL for dinner last week, we managed to take some shoots of the glass sculpture at the main entrance. This is our very first DSLR and both of us has no experience and even knowledge on how to use it yet.Therefore, it will be our new toy yet to be explore for 2010.

My 1st polymer clay project

I always wanted to explore into polymer clay ever since I started my handmade jewelry hobby. There's so many type and brand of clay available in the market now, eg Fimo, Premo and Sculpy; and I really do not know which one to buy. So I just kept them aside till 2 month back, I met a lady during Arts for Grab bazaar. She was selling miniature made from polymer clay, that can be turn into earrings, phonecharms, bracelet etc. After getting some basic infomations, I decided to buy the clay from her, which is a New Zealand manufactured clay - Du Kit.

Last week I finally bought an oven to start my project. I was so excited yesterday playing with the clay. I made a miniature doll, a orange cat, a chick and 3 mini cupcakes. The colours are so nice and I just can't wait to bake them.

Still remember playing and trying to mold something out of sticky dirty clay in primary school? Things improved a lot, nowadays clay comes in various attractive colours and they are easier to manage. I got a set of Korean polymer clay from Art Friends few weeks back. Thought it will be fun playing together with my 3 years old nephew, Ivan.

To my expectation, Ivan loves it very much. Though he still do not know how to make anything out of it, but he really treasure those little toy made by Chia & me. Looking forward for the next clay session and more little toy for Ivan & meimei Reanne too.

Initially we were worried that the traffic in KL area could be chaotic due to major riots yesterday afternoon. To our surprise, our journey was silky smooth. We arrive quite early but there's already huge crowd gathering in front of Jogoya's entrace awaiting supper session which starts at 9:40pm. While waiting, we didn't forget to entertain ourselves by taking photos and exploring Brian's new Macbook.

The supper didn't dissapoint us, there's lot's of food to choose from, though not as much as dinner. A bit of changes made at the ice cream session from my last visit, where there's a attendant serving Häagen-Dazs ice cream; no more self service. Other than that remain the same, still delicious and fullfilling!!

Papa & Yong Birthday Celebration

Yeah! It's celebration after celebration, but this time is a organic fiesta specially dedicated to Papa & Yong. Pei, my sister was the chef of the day. Few of us blogger in the family just couldn't stop taking pictures of these yummy delicious food. Well, cause picture speaks a thousand words. Thanks a lot to my two sister whom were very busy in the kitchen that day, and all the effort they have put in to prepare this special meal. No deep fry, no big fish and meats, I would say this is the best home cook organic healthy meal I've ever have so far.

Most of us may have heard about this lifestyle cafe - Full House, located at NZX Ara Damansara. Just last week alone, I've visited them twice. I must admit that I've truly fall in love with their Victorian style interior decorations and ambient, mainly in white. This cafe offer not only mouth watering food, but also a place for us to hang out and shopping too. No wonder their business is so good despite it's location that is a bit out of the way, to most of us staying in KL.

Melok's Wedding 070707

Melok have come to the second year of marriage, wow.... how time flies. 2nd year also the cotton year, so.... what's the best present? according to traditional wedding, gifts such as towels, curtain, table cloth, bed spreads, blankets....etc etc anything related or made of cotton is recommended..... Too bad it's not diamonds yeah. Anyway, gifts are not that important compare to the loves and cares given to each other as husband and wife.

Looking back at our wedding day's video clips, brought back lots of sweet memories. We took almost a year to prepare for our big day, mainly due to the popularity of our wedding date. 070707, the perfect day to get married in the entire year 2007. We got advise from "Loh Tit Pat", the famous fortune teller in Petaling Street, and were given few dates to choose from. 070707 was choose because it's very easy to remember.

Like many new couples, we wanted the best for our wedding. After decided on this date, we immediately look for the right venue to held our wedding dinner. Most of the famous Chinese restaurant and hotels are fully book. Luckily we found one at last, The Legend Hotel. There are many criteria we look into before choosing it. Most important is a ballroom without column to accomodate 40 to 45 tables, with lot's of space and comfort for our guest. Second comes the stage which is grand enough for live ochestra performance. Third is the food, The Legend Hotels offers good chinese food which is consider one of the best among hotels in Kuala Lumpur. So for those getting marry soon, The Legend Hotel is highly recommended ya.

Next is the pre-wedding photos. We went and survey quite a number of wedding studio around KL and PJ area, can't decide which one to sign in. Most of them offers quite attractive package, finally we decided on Love Vision Wedding Studio. They were our choice because I like their photography style which is more artistic. We didn't had bad experience with their service either but did spent quite a lot of money on the photography.

We were officially registered on 13 Feb 2007 at Tien Hau Temple Marriage Registeration Office. Popular choice among the chinese in Klang Valley. Huh!! The registeration process was really fast, just 10 minutes per couple. I don't remember how many couples they can take per day, but their operating hour is from Mon - Fri 9am - 5pm, Sat until 12:30pm.

As mention due to this popular date, we need to confirm the booking for make up artise, photographer and videographer early. My sister AChia helps me a lot on this, thanks to her wide networking through the cybersphere. We have engaged Ian Chew to be our official photographer during that day, a young and dedicated chap. Following that, it was during the chinese new year we started to inform all the relatives and friends in order to prepare guest list for our wedding dinner. Those couples that had gone through certainly agree with me that this is the most headache part. We need to arange the seats for every guest, to make sure those from the same group of friends will sit at the same table. It's a long process as we need to confirm the attendance of every guest. Few of our guest have got more than one invitation on that day, many thanks to those whom have attended my wedding.

After all set and done, we were just waitng for our big day, "tick tack tick tack".....

Finally, the day we have been waiting for ...... We had a simple wedding ceremony, including chinese must have tea ceremony in the morning. Although we did not follow all the custom in chinese wedding , but certainly a simple and sweet day for us.

Wedding dinner was a bigger task for both of us. This is the first time we hosted a grand dinner function. Would like to take this opportunity to thank all our family members whom help us throughout the dinner, our parents, brothers and sisters - the ushers, AChia and my collegues on the guest registeration counter, Chun Kiat and Alana - the MC, Sixson - the one leg kick coordinators, Louise and Jocelyn - bridemaids...... last but not least.....all our honourable guest.

The end of our wedding dinner marks as the begining of our new journey . There will be more challenges, sweet and sour that we have to face together through our new chapter of life. This blog , Melok's Place will continue to be a place for us to express our feelings, sharing our joys and hapiness, things we have explore, places we go and many more ....

深夜两点多了，还不入睡吗？不是睡不着，也不是在追港剧。唉··· 自从当上博客后，同时也成为了夜猫一族。都怪自己年轻时（hmm··· 小女子现在还不是很老）没把电脑学好。其实不只是如此，网路世界实在太多姿多彩。从网上找资料，购物已是我生活不能缺少的。如果不是博客，我也没机会重新学习写华文文章。最近正努力研究网路生意，希望能在这领域创出另个春天。

Hmmm.... let me see.... first of all , let's welcome ...... new kid on the Blog ...-Louisedancing. Louise, my best buddy drop by my house with her laptop last Friday. She wanted to learn more about how to use blogger. Hehee... can't call myself an expert yet, but I'm certainly more than happy to share my knowledge and experience.

I was like her 2 months back, started a blog but totally "blurr" on how to go about it. Thanks to Brother Chun Kiat, A Chia and Brian, my fellow mentors whom have given me great advise and guidance through my learning curves.

Korean food in Sunway

Whenever we wanna have Korean food, this restaurant immediately comes to our mind - Woo Ga Choon. Though there is more choices at Ampang, but Sunway will be nearer for us. Lok has become Woo Ga Choon's big fans since introduced by a Korean friend.
What we like most is steam egg, grill sweet corn and a kimchi soup are free when you order 2 sets of BBQ. Couple with the variety of free flow appetizer........guarantee fullllllll!!!

Daiso Japanese Store open another outlet in IOI Mall Puchong. This is my 2nd visit to the store and I'm still crazy browsing through. New Work Station, Hurray!!!

We just upgraded our work station with a new PC. Got it from Low Yat last Saturday, we were amazed to find that PC, laptop and other gadget are quite cheap now a days. We now have a 20" crystal bright LCD monitor, not really use to the elongated screen yet. Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 32oG HD, speed....err....forgotten...but consider real fast...hehe...full set at RM 1670 wit genuine Window Vista.
Lok bought a router earlier, but our home streamyx line down pulak since Sat, juz back to normal the day before yesterday. Thanks to Papa and Ah Yong who have helped us to install the router, seams ok, but unstable when we wanna have both PC and laptop online at the same time. Hmmm....what's the problem??? Still have to figure out.

露依丝的生日

习惯每年为好友露依丝买生日礼物而 shopping 。今年因为脚痛无法走路，这次可头痛了! 又想送个特别的······不如······自己 D·I·Y· 吧！为了这礼物在网上买了些亮钻 rhinestones，开始将自己的小东西装饰一番。上手后昨天才敢在刚买的名片盒上贴上漂亮的钻。花了个晚上的时间，终于完成了！成品自己还挺满意，希望她会喜欢。

今天约了寿星女吃午餐，特地到Kota Kemuning 的小当家吃水手面。这是个美容城，结合了美容，理发，瑜伽和 Cafe；是个很不错的消闲好地方。它家的水手面最出名，看起来很像板面。但听说这面是在水里搓的，所以比较滑，口感不错。店里还有蛮多好吃的，全都是店主精心调配，以健康和有机为主。有机会一定要试试看喔！

最近爱上了手工和串珠，也买了蛮多珠子。同样是爱好者的一定也知道收纳这些小珠珠十分伤脑筋。材料种类多而小，有时候要找某样东西真的不容易。
昨天不小心被我看到一篇蛮有用的相关文章，是位台湾串珠达人 Allen 分享的。原来可以这样收········ Allen老师建议用的药盒，在 The Curve 的 Daiso 可以买到；五令吉而已。看看以下照片，我还加上了 labelling，方便下次补货不会买错 size 和 colour。

Prince Siddhartha The Musical

A touching Musical brought to you once again in Kuala Lumpur. After 10th years, finally manage to stage at world class theatre - Istana Budaya.

As I'm one of their ex-performer, I've been invited to watch the premier show last Friday.
This is my first time watching the musical at the audience sit. I've lost count of how many times I've watch this being from the VCD or from the side of stage as I was a dancer in this production back in 2000 and 2002. A lot of improvements have been made this time, including better and more real looking back drops couple improved lighting makes a perfect 3D effect. Some additional short scene added makes the flow of the story even more interesting.

The most encouraging part is the major cast are still the actor and actress from the very first performance back in 1999. I'm glad to find them getting more and more matured in terms singing as well as body language. Still touching as ever....

Lately Lok has been complaining that I'm tooooo.... addicted to beading. I will go to my beads and wires first thing in the morning and can't stop once I started. I even forgotten all about my lunch or dinner.... Sorry Lok, I admit that I'm too disorganize. I've to arrange my time table properly. First thing first, I organize all my bead stuff into a big box so that they dun mess and sit on my dining table all the time. Then, I'll make sure I keep it nicely after finish my beading project (just like training small kids to keep their toys each time after playing). I'll improve from time to time, I promise ya!

My Bling Bling DIY

Wanna add glitters to dull looking things, and turn it into something unique with personality? Try add bling bling rhinestone to it. Just got the rhinestone from I bought from online last week, tried playing with it today. Here's how I DIY rhinestone decoration step by step. This is the first attempt on rhinestone, not that difficult, but definitely need to be very very....patient.

First of all, find the center point of the desired design and stick on the first rhinestone. I use E6000 glue, it dried very fast and really sticky. Try to get smaller tube, if possible, as it will be easier to manage.

A flat end picker is used to pick up the rhinestone one by one. Apply glue to it by using the tooth pick.

Then, press on the glued rhinestone to make sure it sticked well.

And finally.....the finish Bling Bling mirror! Not bad isn't it!

Jyu Raku or Rakuzen?

Last week we wanted to have Japanese food for dinner. We went to our favorate Rakuzen at Subang Jaya, surprise to find out there's two different Japanese Restaurant located side by side. Jyu Raku is at Rakuzen original lot and Rakuzen has move to the next door. One guy came by and told us both are the same (staff of Rakuzen), that make us even confused. There's a banner in front of newly open Jyu Raku showing the Japanese Chef photo (he's the former chef of Rakuzen).
After a minutes of deep thought, haha... we choose Jyu Raku. Only later we found out from the waitress that this is a new restaurant open by Masami san( former chef of Rakuzen), no wonder everything look almost the same including the menu.
We ordered lot's of food that day, avocado seafood salada, chirashi don, sushi, grill cod fish.....and it is really fresh especially the sashimi. Really satisfying!

What's hot? Hot sup lor... on a hot afternoon! It's this shop that is well known for it's hot sup and "far diu gai" (in cantonese) - Kien Kee. They serve only lunch, even though the weather is hot lately, but still a lot of people makan there. They do offer air-con room with additional RM 2 to the total bill.
For those who do not know, hot sup is actually chinese pork sup cook with ginger, white pepper and other ingredient to make it really hot and spicy. Where else "far diu gai" is cook with chinese all time favorate rice wine " siu heng zao". Worth trying!
Shop located right behind post office (Jln Besar Seri Kembangan). Near to morning wet market.

We don't always go for fine dining, it's just once in the blue moon kind of things or during special occasions. We do frequent to hawkers, coffee shop for our meals when we don't cook. One thing good about Serdang is the variety of nice yummy Chinese food. Here are some places we found their food nice, you may check them out if you happen to drop by Serdang for a meal. Enjoy!

We had a early mother's day celebration last Sunday, and this time a bit special cause both my parents and parent in law were together. My friend offer me a RM 180 Sunday lunch voucher for 6pax at Avanti,Sunway Resort Hotel. This was a good deal , it normally cost RM 75++ per pax.

How was the lunch? Just can't enough good thing about it, from appertizer, main course to dessert, they all all top class!

Labour day doesn't make any different to me, except Lok is not working. Lok suggested to have dim sum at Li Jin Seafood Restaurant, Pavillion. It's a "eat all you can" deal at RM 20.80+ per person. Due to the overwhelming respond, it's fully book when Lok try to make phone booking. We decided to try our luck with walk in. After waited for 1/2 an hour, we got our place. There's lot's of variety to choose from, we are bit greedy to try too many type and ended up super full.

A day at University Hospital

Today is my 4th visit to the Rheumatologist, long que as usual. I was expecting lots of ppl with their mask at the SLE clinic, but turn out only less than 5% did so. The flu is currently spreading and I think we have to take the precaution especially SLE patient due the their weaker immune system.

I waited for nearly 2 hours till my turn. Basicly this is just a follow up visit. I'm diagnose with rheumatoic arthritis which attack my left ankle. It had turn from bad to worse thru these years, and I currently cannot walk due to unbareble pain. I went thru 1 biopsy and 1 operation by the orthopedic, but was later refered to rheumatologist. They prescribe me with steroid and methotrexate. I'm not keen on the methotrexate, knowing that it actually suppress my immune system so that it will not attack the joint. Couple with lot's of side effect make me even worried. So I decided to take only the steroid injection to my ankle hopefully to reduce the inflammation. The doctor told me he is disappointed but respect my decision.

I wouldn't be seeing him until July, but still continue with physiotherapy. Hope to get away from crutchers and regain freedom soon.

Wondering what is this? It's a rejuvelac recommended by Daniel Reid in his book The Tao of Detox. My dad has made some lately, share some with our family member.
It taste a bit sour, but quite soothing when drinking it. It claims to increase "friendly bacteria" in digestive tract,hence improve bowel movement.

My very first creation

Lately I have urge to start doing things that I like to do when young, beading and jewelry making. Since I'm currently staying at home most of the time, this will keep me busy. It's really satisfying when a piece of jewelry is made. Especially when I see other people wearing my creation and they love it too. Feel free to give me any comment as there is always rooms for improvement.

I'm crazy about earring that's why I make the most of it. I'm now trying to make bracelet, will post more later. Stay tune.

Candle Light Dinner

Today is not any anniversary nor celebration, Lok wanna meet a customer at Bangsar and we were thinking of good place for dinner there. Oh yes, there's a good fine dining restaurant which I've been thinking of bringing Lok there - Opus Bistro. It's a nice cozy bistro with simple but romantic deco.
The waiter took our order, the all time favourate Grill Cod Fish and Opus Pasta. A little while later, we were serve with a plate of fresh salad, it's a complimentary starter as our Grill Cod Fish need 25 minutes to be serve. What a great customer service! We didn't waited that long after all for our main dish though.
How's the food? I can say it's delicious!!! We ended our meal with a lovely sweet tiramisu, what a satisfying meal!

Outing at Kelanang Beach

Yeah, my family and I went to Kelanang Beach last Sunday. It's located at Banting, somewhere near to a more popular Morib beach. This my first time there, the beach was so so only, but at least it's near to KL, about an hour drive from Serdang. We spent about 2 hours there and adjoured for Bak Kut Teh in Banting Town. Overall it was a pleasent trip and a get together for our family.

We never thought of creating our own blog, maybe we are too busy with our works.... until lately I'm down with ankle problem which leads me with more times to explore on the web. I'm really amazed with the world of internet, there are so many things we have left behind in terms of IT. This have urge me to learn more.
Started this blog to share our humble thoughts, what we found interesting and of cause to updates friends and family about our life.
